Holy Cross Hospital to Provide Free Cancer Prevention Screenings to Uninsured/Underinsured Community Members
Holy CrossHospital is striving to bridge the health disparities gap between those insured and those uninsured by providing information and free cancer screenings and links to follow-up treatment, if needed, to community members who are uninsured/underinsured. All community members are encouraged to come and learn about cancer through a variety of health education lectures, hands-on health exhibits and free screenings.
Saturday, October 24th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon.
No pre-registration. Screenings provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Location: Holy Cross Hospital
1500 Forest Glen Road
Silver Spring, Maryland
The following screenings will be provided:
§ Clinical Breast Exam (helps detect breast disease or breast cancer)
§ Pap smear (cervical cancer screening)
§ Digital Rectal Exam (DRE – to detect rectal and prostate cancers)
§ Prostate Examination (detects prostate enlargement)
§ Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA – blood test for prostate cancer)
§ Bone Density (estimates osteoporosis risk)
§ Blood Pressure (heart health)
§ Body Composition (estimates proportion of fat, muscle and bone)
§ Carbon Monoxide Exposure
