As the debate rages on about whether Internet addiction is a discrete affliction, the first US treatment center designed to treat it has opened its doors. The Heavensfield Retreat Center has launched a program called reSTART located in Fall City, WA, which offers a 45-day treatment program for Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD). The cost to go through with the program is $14,500, and enrollment has already begun.
Today I awoke to an email in my inbox about how Tameka (Raymond) foster had supposedly plagiarized her “dark skinned” essay, she penned recently for the huffingtonpost.com which touched upon her walk in “dark skin shoes” in a very color biased world. -> “I am a dark-skinned African American woman with features that reflect my ancestry. Debates regarding Light vs. Dark and other biases have plagued our race for years and continues to impact millions of Black women. The deeply rooted intra-racial contempt that lies beneath this inane "compliment" is the reason I've chosen to spark dialogue surrounding the topic of self-hatred in our culture. Now fast forward to this morning when I received the link to the following story of accusing Tameka of “stealing” the literary works of a fellow African –American writer: “When Tameka Foster posted the blog entry 'She's Pretty for a Dark-Skinned Girl' on the Huffington Post, both celebrities and regular women alike celebrated her message.
